I bought Gwyneth Paltrow’s “My father’s daughter” cookbook a couple of years ago and fell in love. Her passion for cooking is very evident and you can’t help but get excited about it too. It is almost as if she is in the kitchen with you. I love the pictures that come in her cookbooks as well. They paint a very happy and loving mood that is surrounded by food. Food really does bring people together and I love how she uses it as a family affair. Like her book says, it “celebrates family and togetherness”. I love just about every recipe in the this cookbook, but my absolute FAVES are “Bruce Paltrow’s world-famous pancakes” and “Morning Pancakes”. Bruce is Gwyneth’s father and after making these pancakes, I can see where she got her “good cooking gene”. These are AMAZING. They are buttermilk pancakes, not at all good for you, but worthy of the name “World Famous”. When I don’t want to eat my days worth of calories and carbs, I turn to her “morning pancake” recipe. Complete with yogurt and flax seeds, this recipe is not only SO good, but (kinda) good for you.
I have yet to try any recipes from her “It’s All Good” cookbook, but there are a few I really wanna try. The only problem with this cookbook is that it calls for a lot of speciality ingredients that you cannot find in your everyday grocery store. I recommend taking this book with you to a Whole Foods, Bristol Farms, Sprouts, etc in order to get the correct ingredients.
Paltrow’s cookbooks never disappoint, I highly recommend buying at least one!
