According to Deepak Chopra, the first spiritual law of success is the Law of Pure Potentiality. It is the field of all possibilities and infinite creativity. It is based on the fact that we are in a state of pure consciousness. We are infinite and unbounded which is also the same as experiencing pure joy, this is our spiritual essence.  There are many ways to experience and practice this law, but one of them is spending time in nature. Spending time in nature gives you infinite creativity, freedom, and bliss.  By spending time in nature, you receive a sense of unity with all of the elements of life. You are a bundle of manifested energy and by spending time in nature you connect with all of nature’s intelligence. This relationship will help you gain insight to yourself, mirroring your true essence;  every relationship is a reflection of your relationship with yourself. Learn to get in touch with your most inner self. Deepak Chopra says it best, “Your true essence is beyond the ego. It is fearless, it is free; it is immune to criticism, it does not fear any challenge. It is beneath no one, superior to no one, and full of magic, mystery, and enchantment.” The universe has an unbounded and unlimited amount of creativity, developing a relationship with it will help you gain access to your own infinite and unbounded creativity, but first you have to go beyond your own turbulent inner dialogue and be still.

I HIGHLY recommend Deepak Chopra’s “The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success”. It is a quick read and a life changer. If you are not familiar with Chopra, he is considered the “new age guru” and praised by Oprah and many celebrities. However, that’s not why I like him; I love his views on life, the mind, body, and soul. He has many guided meditations available via YouTube or on his website. He also has a retreat center located in Oceanside, CA. My best friend worked there and it is beautiful! Classes and seminars are offered there, as well as a luxurious day spa. He has many books that cover an array of topics, but I feel this one is a good one to have as principles for life. Check it out.

The Honest Life

I have ALWAYS been obsessed with Jessica Alba, like since her Dark Angel days. I used to pray that I would wake up and look like her…it never happened. BUT, now with her new book, The Honest Life, I can live like her!  This book has to be one of my favorites (No, not just because it’s by Jessica Alba). It has completely changed my life. She covers everything from food, babies, furniture, vintage shopping, beauty products, entertainment, etc. I have always wanted to move towards a more green and organic life, but I didn’t know where to start. It can be overwhelming. This book breaks it down. After reading this, I was making my own cleaning products, bought safer cooking pans, switched out my makeup, and even started cooking meals I never thought I could.  She writes this book in a way that isn’t condescending, but just really informative. You will have many “aha” moments and moments where you will think “How did I not know this?!”. If you are even remotely interested in your health and the health of your family, I strongly suggest this book. It has changed the way I think and live…for the better. Alba genuinely cares about the topics in this book and it radiates through to the reader. So happy she decided to share this with the public!

Buti Yoga

I’ve been working out since I was 12. Health and fitness was always a big deal to my mom and it was singed into my mind at a young age. I have tried it all when it comes to work outs: Barre Method, pilates, yoga, yogalosophy (ANOTHER GREAT WORKOUT!), Insanity (completed it twice), P90X, Kickboxing, Tracy Anderson, ChaLEAN Extreme, Jillian Michaels, and just about every BeachBody workout. I was also in the military, so working out was part of my job. Out of all the workouts I have tried, I see the most results with pilates, yoga, TA, and cardio; these workouts also bring me the most “peace”-I genuinely enjoy doing these workouts. I get bored very easily with workouts and have a hard time committing to just one. One day I was reading an article on Jennifer Love Hewitt in Shape magazine and she contributed Buti Yoga for her phsyice. So naturally, I scrammed to the computer to read up on this workout and O.M.G. It’s a combination of yoga, dance, and cardio strength moves. What a brilliant idea! It was invented by Bizzie Gold (you can read her bio here) and she has mastered the art of making you feel sexy when working out, but badass also! I NEVER get bored with her workouts and I always feel super sexy when doing it, which I think is really important for all us girls to feel-especially when working out. When doing BUTI, you not only get the Zen of yoga, but u also get the motivation to keep going with the sexy hip shaking movements she has you do, and you’re dripping sweat the whole time because it’s a SERIOUS cardiovascular workout as well.
